We work in an industry that prides itself on making a difference in the lives of others. This is important and meaningful work. But it is also extremely multifaceted. In order for us as the owners or managers to control the chaos and not get sucked into the chaos, we have to have team members around us that we can rely on to carry out whatever mission or goals we have set for our business.

This doesn't just mean building a team, this means we must empower the strong team we build. In order for us as the owners or managers to control the chaos and not get sucked into the chaos, we have to have team members around us that that we can rely on to carry out whatever mission or goals we have set for our business.

Today we are looking at the 9 Habits of People Who Build Extraordinary Relationships, which reveals the simple behaviors that help foster long-term business relationships. After we review the 9 habits, we will discuss how you can apply these 9 habits to your world of early childhood business and learn more about how we can help facilitate these habits with our own team.

We will also talk about building a team of extraordinary relationship cultivators. We all know that hiring a quality preschool teacher, childcare director, or play cafe manager can be one of the most challenging aspects of our business. I know this can seem overwhelming with all that you have to do in your day. I still go to my high-quality preschool every day and know that there will always be something that comes up to take my focus away from what I wanted to do that day. But when you put in a little extra time and effort to build a quality team, those unexpected fires and stressful moments start to diminish and there are others who can now step in to handle them so you are not doing so all of the time. This allows you to take back more of your time to focus on things you want to do.

Some few key notes:

[03:10] When you surround yourself with successful people who are good at what they do, it enables you to accomplish bigger goals yourself.

[03: 51] Professional success is important to everyone, but still, success in business and in life means different things to different people--as well it should

[07:47] Take a little time every day to do something nice for someone, not because you're expected to but simply because you can. When you do, your relationships improve dramatically.

[11:40] Stop calling your team members 'STAFF'
