3 Simple Secrets to Keeping Your ECE Team on the Same Communication Page

In this week's episode of Early Childhood Business Made Easy, I broach the subject of communication.

Communication is a top priority for families. And how we communicate with them will determine their confidence in our ability to provide for their children.

This is why having a great communication plan is a must for every early childhood business, whether it's a school, a play café, or a center.

Keeping parents informed means keeping them happy.

However, your team must be on the same page, communication-wise, to ensure that happens.

How do you make sure that's the case?

Tune in now to find out!

3 Ways to Keep Your Team on the Same Communication Page

Communication is a top priority for families, and how we communicate with them will determine their level of confidence in our ability to provide for their children. You have to keep your team on the same communication page. Doing so is all about having a consistent approach. Here's how:

Tip #1: Prepare for the Conversation

For more sensitive conversations with parents, make sure to prepare yourself beforehand, so you have all the information you need. This will also help you stay focused and engaged during the discussion.

Tip #2: Get Your Team Ready

The second secret to keeping your team members on the same communication page is making sure they understand and know how to talk to parents and listen with empathy.

Give your team a plan for what they need to do if they end up in a difficult conversation. Teach them active listening and how to demonstrate genuine empathy for what parents are experiencing.

Tip #3: Communicate How Much You Care

Teach your team members how to communicate their care for the children. While it's obvious to us how much we care about our students, it’s not always so straightforward for parents.

Warm, caring, natural responses from your team will form the foundation on which a strong relationship grows. This approach encourages a special relationship between you and the parents.

I discuss all of this in more depth in the episode above, so make sure to give it a listen!
