The Number 1 Money and Time Saving Tool I Use Everyday In My Preschool and Play Cafe Businesses
Our passion is loving and educating children while making life a little easier for today’s busy families, not graphic design. Yet, our first impression with the families in our communities is crucial to the success of our preschool programs. We often are so passionate about what we do that we do not place enough emphasis on the business of preschool and our process for attracting new families.
Our website and print materials are often the first things many families see about us and are the introduction phase of a potential new relationship with a family. It is so important that we have a process for ensuring that our families have a good first impression when interacting with these materials.
In this episode we are going to discuss one of my absolute favorite tools I now use on a regular basis. This one tool has saved me hours and hundreds of dollars. It allows me to do the graphic design work on my own in a short amount of time. The Canva design app.
Canva is yet another freemium online graphics tool that’s extremely simple to use and offers a mountain load of templates that can help you out. It’s supposed to be a quick and easy way to create visuals and help those unskilled in the magic of graphic design.
You can create custom marketing materials for your early childhood business, preschool, classroom resources your teachers can use, and everything you need to communicate to your parents. You can do business cards, brochures, worksheets, posters, it's practically limitless. It's only up to your imagination in terms of some of the things you can and can't do with this design app.
Canva offers free video tutorials. If you're new to graphic design and want to learn about branding or how to incorporate Canva in the virtual classroom, there are free video tutorials on their website.
We will discuss:

We hope that this episode brought you a fresh new idea on how to bring your marketing materials to life. And the importance of putting in a little time and effort for a bigger pay off in the end. When you invest a little time in your marketing materials, that first impression will wow your potential families and result in new customers. You will be spending less time creating marketing materials so you can spend more time doing the things you truly enjoy that bring you more joy and your business more success. Take care and have a great week!
