Boost Your Bottom Line By Hosting Quality Family Special Events That Will Create Happy Family Memories
In this episode, we are going to talk about boosting your bottom line by hosting quality family special events which will create extremely happy family memories.
Strong families are built on love and quality experiences that create wonderful childhood memories. However, love and memories don’t just happen—we have to work at creating and nurturing these quality experiences that lead to wonderful memories for our kids.
The day-to-day hustle and bustle can leave many of us short on time and zapped of energy, leaving little room to work at building loving relationships and quality experiences in our families. This can be most true for the busy families we serve. Making these memories is one way to help link hearts together and provide a unique service for our families that leave them feeling more love for our schools than we could have ever imagined. And in turn, an increased lifetime family value for our bottom line.
We as early childhood businesses have a very unique opportunity to help our families create these quality experiences. Not only do we see many of our families multiple times a week, we are sharing in raising their most prized possessions in life. You are so much more than just their teacher, caregiver, place to play, or educator. You are part of their family and play a role in some of their family experiences while they are with you.
Helping families create quality experiences fulfills our mission to make life a little easier for today’s busy families. But it also will fill your bank account. When you create opportunities for these unique family memories parents are beyond grateful and that gratitude comes out in the form of happy referrals and social posts.
The value of creating quality family experiences and family involvement is extremely high. Providing a supportive and friendly environment in which learning activities, play, and fun can be provided to families outside of the school experience is a great way for families to get together with other families as well as grow closer to your teachers and your school, as a whole.
We will talk about the advantages of families during these quality family experiences:
Developing new friendships.
Learning from other families.
Gaining new insight and understanding about your school.
Gaining an appreciation for your teachers' efforts.
Parents are better able to define appropriate levels of expectations for their child’s development.
Parents can see their child’s developing abilities and skills.
Parents feel more comfortable in their interactions with your team members
In addition, research with school-age children over the past forty years finds that family involvement is critical to the educational success of both the child and the school in part because it:
Raises the academic achievement of the students.
Improve the attitudes and performances of the children in school.
Has a positive effect on self-esteem and motivation to learn.
Reduces behavior problems.
Helps parents to understand and be more supportive of your school curriculum, policies, and procedures.
Builds school and community relationships in an ongoing problem, preventing way.
Gives teachers an opportunity to get acquainted with the families and learn about their concerns, which, in turn, helps them respond to their needs.
At Peake Academy, we have been hosting these quality family experiences and special events for more than 16 years now. We make sure we have one planned every month. I wanted to share some tips and ideas for hosting your own quality family special events. Our families are often impressed with the events we have hosted but it’s not difficult at all, it just takes some planning, effort, and little creativity.
During our annual school planning session we look at the school year coming up and we plan out what our special events will look like for the entire school year. Then, we build those into the school calendar. Next, we have a plan for any parent volunteers we may need and schedule 2 parent volunteer meetings a year.
We have created a Special Family Event list of some of the fun and super easy events we have hosted over the years
We hope that this episode brought you a fresh new perspective on the importance of putting in a little time and effort for a bigger pay off in the end. When you provide at least 1 quality family special event each month, you are nurturing your families and your business. You will be spending less time having to market, enroll, and fill your school. You can spend more time doing the things you truly enjoy. Focusing on the things that really matter, your top priorities, your key relationships, your most important projects, all the things that will bring you more joy and your business more success. Take care and have a great week!
